Kangaroo Island Scupture Trail

The Kangaroo Island Sculpture Trail is officially open for all to enjoy. The 1.8 kms of trails wind through native bush land following the ravine cliff faces and is sculpted with dry limestone walls, pink gum stepping logs, hidden picnic spots, tree bridges and magical places to sit and soak in the Penneshaw views.

Native wildlife live among the bushes and the lovely birds twitter around the trail bringing song and colour to life. The trail itself is a beautiful sculpture and over time artists and nature will contribute more sculptural elements to the experience. Therefore, the trail is worth visiting on a regular basis to see how things are evolving.

The trail is FREE TO USE and open 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. Trail markers with maps indicating your location are situated within the trail to help you select your route. A donation box is located at the entrance on Frenchman’s Terrace. The trail is solely a community based project and as such the project sincerely appreciate any and all donations to help with future developments of this amazing project.

The Wallaby Track

A trail that has been around for a little longer is the Wallaby Track. It’s a 3 km return hike which follows a natural spring fed creek bed with naturally occurring waterfalls into limestone features. A must see and do in Winter!
This little hike was built by Graham Lloyd in honour of the Trethewey family. You can access the Wallaby Track walking trail from Binny’s Track just down the road from Frenchman’s Rock in Penneshaw. It’s a fantastic outing for kids and adults alike, however this one is a little more challenging, so wear good sturdy walking shoes.
