    Situated in the picturesque town of American River, our farm-gate showcases Island aquaculture and sustainable seafood including; Pacific Oysters, Native oysters, Wild Marron, Abalone, Abalini, King George Whiting and more (when in season)!

    Feast on their Harvest of the Day lunch menu paired with local wine, cider and beer or gather up a seafood banquet to enjoy back at your accommodation!

    Enjoy watching the local oyster punt bring in boat loads of fresh oysters during the season, watching oystershuckers in action or book a Daily Farm Tour or their new Shucking Experience to learn more!

    Emu Ridge is a unique attraction where you can find out how Australian Eucalyptus Oil is made - from past to present.

    Eucalyptus oil was Australia’s first true export overseas and one of Kangaroo Islands major industries. Emu Ridge is now the only remaining commercial eucalyptus oil distillery in South Australia, and is proud to have preserved a major part of Kangaroo Island’s heritage our history and produce a eucalyptus oil that is unique to the world.

    The award winning Emu Ridge site has an excellent retail outlet that offers an extensive range of local produce, art, craft and historical memorabilia. Emu Ridge manufacture and retail Eucalyptus oil and a large range of associated natural products.

    They offer Guided and Self Guided Tours that take visitors through the distillery.

    Emu Ridge has a cafe area which offers meals, light snacks, coffee & drinks and is also the cellar door for the award winning Kangaroo Island Cider. We have an indoor and 2 large outdoor eating areas plus a picnic area that are also available for events. The dining area offers a fully licensed bar.

    Clifford’s Honey Farm is Dave and Jenny Clifford’s family business with three generations currently working at the farm situated at Elsegood Road, Haines, Kangaroo Island.

    Dave started with a couple of hives as a hobby in 1973. During the late 1980’s when the wool prices dropped, Dave and Jenny diversified their sheep farm by expanding the honey business. They opened the farm gate shop in 1993.

    The family runs the honey production business and farm gate.

    We are open 7 days 9am to 5pm operating our farm gate store and bee information display room.
    Honey tasting available. Guided tours available at 1.30pm daily. Closed Christmas Day.
    The online shop is available and you will find a selection of our quality honey and a range of products we can mail order.

    The Kangaroo Island Ligurian Bee Co is a family owned and operated business. Since the 1940's our family have been keeping bees on Kangaroo Island. These skills are now being passed on to the 4th generation.

    Together we aim to share the story of the Ligurian Bee Sanctuary, the importance of protecting these bees and why biosecurity is critical to their future.

    Certified as organic in 2001, The Kangaroo Island Ligurian Bee Co continues to build on our rich history as beekeepers. With over 1000 hives across the island, we carefully select our apiary sites to harvest the special, unique honeys produced from the nectar of the native flora.
