American River
Island Alive on Kangaroo Island is a small, family run business, run by Wim Hof Method instructor Amy Pysden. Tucked in a peaceful pine forest by Pelican Lagoon—just 15 minutes from the Penneshaw ferry—the sanctuary offers the ideal setting to relax and recharge through nature-based wellness experiences. Surrounded by trees and wildlife, you'll find a traditional 6 seater steam sauna, a wood fired hot tub, and a refreshing cold plunge bath nestled into the landscape. With exclusive access to the property during your visit, you can fully disconnect from the outside world and reconnect—with nature, yourself, and those around you.
Choose from a range of rejuvenating experiences, from a one-hour hot and cold contrast therapy session—rotating between our cedarwood sauna, hot tub, and cold plunge—to an overnight retreat in our cosy forest cabin. Enhance your stay with relaxation massage, guided forest bathing, or breathwork sessions held in nature. For a deeper reset, immerse yourself in the Wim Hof Method with a private workshop. Or, simply unwind in a hammock strung between the pines and let nature do the rest.
Prefer to stay where you are? They also offer personalised wellness experiences delivered directly to locations across Kangaroo Island. Pause your itinerary and enjoy guided breathwork and an invigorating ice bath in the comfort of your holiday accommodation. Minimum group sizes apply.
