The Figgery is a small family business at Stokes Bay on the north coast of Kangaroo Island, growing figs and olives since 1993, following organic farming principles. All products are produced and packed on the farm. The Figgery operates as a wholesale business, supplying retailers and individuals in carton quantities but also posts smaller orders across Australia on request. The Figgery produces several fig products including Sticky Figs, Sticky Fig Syrup and Fig Wine Vinegar. Sticky Figs are cooked in syrup and then dried, making them available all year round. Sticky Fig Syrup is produced as part of the process, is always available and has an unlimited shelf life. The Fig Wine Vinegar is produced from fresh figs that are fermented to fig wine, which is then converted to vinegar using traditional methods.
