Kangaroo Island is serving up an amazing array of dining and eat opportunities this summer, with some great new businesses popping up and other increasing their menus and offerings. Check out the list below for some great new ideas.
Sunset Food and Wines
The award wining Sunset Food and Wines have extended their already renown offering to include breakfast this summer. Offered on Saturdays and Sundays from Dec 20 to Jan 20th, 2019, breakfast now compliments their existing lunch and dinner menu.
These guys are also doing an amazing New Year’s Eve menu, so if you are looking for somewhere special to commence celebrations, this might just be the place – bookings are essential. For more information including menus and booking details, check out the links below.
Make sure you check out the gorgeous Mini Delights this summer. Located at the stunning Emu Bay in a funky purpose build food van, this pop-up kitchen & bar is open 7 days a week throughout summer. Serving hot and cold bites, cocktails, local wines and beers and of course coffee it’s a must stop for your itinerary. Opening hours and specials can be found here.
That Food Van – Islander Estate Tasting Room
From the 27th December to the 28 Jan, The Islander Estate will be partnering with Sue Pearson from 2 Birds and a Squid to deliver fantastic food from That Food Van. Opened every day except Wednesday, relax on the deck or lawns with Islander Estates delicious French influenced cool climate wines matched with Sue's fantastic tapas-style dishes including local seafood & regional specialties.

Springs Road Cellar Door
A brand spanking new Kangaroo Island offering – Springs Rd is now open for business. Springs Road runs East West across the Northern part of Kangaroo Island. The vineyard was established in 1994 on a small sheep property about 10km west of Kingscote. Springs Road Wines are owned and operated by Joch Bosworth and Louise Hemsley-Smith from McLaren Vale’s Battle of Bosworth wines. Wines are 100% estate grown and hand-made from the low yielding vines which are now well over 20 years old. They are making small volumes of Chardonnay, Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and a Cabernet Sauvignon/ Shiraz blend. Cellar Door is accessed off Playford Highway – number 761, just down the road from Kangaroo Island Spirits. Opened 7 days from 12 – 5pm. Be sure to drop in and say hello.
Most visitors to Kangaroo Island know and love our gorgeous Dudley Wines, or if they don’t, they sure will after a visit. Located on the Dudley Peninsula with a cellar door with views that take your breath away, these guys are a must not miss experience. Dudley’s have added to their already fantastic offerings, by introducing new experiences on their tasting menu – this are known

They have also bought back the good old bucket of prawns to their menu. Make sure Dudley Wines is on your must see and do this summer.
Located predominantly at Pennington Bay, Beach Barista is serving up fantastic coffee, homemade snacks and ice-cream from their purpose-built mobile van. So, while checking out one of Kangaroo Island most pristine beaches, be sure to drop by the van and catch up with Kylie and Rob. These guys do move around depending on the weather – so be sure to check out their Facebook page for absolute location.
