TIPS FOR ROMANTICS WHO LIKE A SPOT OF FISHING #6

You can still enjoy a sunset walk along the beach but take a fishing rod with a small lure and cast it out as you walk along with your partner, feeling the soft sand between your toes and being happy together. Only problem is you can't hold hands, but they can carry your catch!

HOW TO COOK A FISH ON A FIRE
There's no mucking around with fish on fires if they're the only two things you have. We've heard it from all the locals and even Greeks and Italians and this is the simplest and juciest way to cook up your fresh catch.
1. Build a fire
2. Put the whole fish - unscaled - on hot coals.
3. Turn once when necessary
4. Peel back skin and pull off soft, white, juicy flesh once cooked.

The walk out of Penneshaw and full of green, rolling hills and walks on sandy beaches (with nobody to carry my catch) all the way down to Strawbridge Point. A hop, skip and a jump across American River found me back on solid ground; unfortunately I had to pass up live oysters from the wharf at American River.

The Red Banks and Red Cliffs were a stunning sight at the beginning of Nepean Bay with a couple of sea eagles to boast too. And that night it was a surreal experience, looking over the bay to the city lights of Kingscote. The next day at Kingscote is finally where Jake was fighting fit and ready to trek on for the final stint to Emu Bay.

We've really appreciated the mild winters that Kangaroo Island is renowned for because apart from some fierce weather at one stage, most of our days on this magical island have been full of sun.

We rounded the historical landmark on our way out from Kingscote which was the first official settlement in South Australia in 1836, then Bay of Shoals, North Cape and Boxing Bay which are all tucked up neatly together.

Ahhh! The last beach we need to walk down to finish our tour - and what a beauty it was. But we shouldn't really say much about Emu Bay because they tell me its still a secret!! Shhh.
