The monthly Kangaroo Island Farmers Market in Penneshaw is a popular event with locals and visitors alike, bringing local farmers, growers, bakers, home gardeners and a range of artisan producers together with the Island’s community and visitors, who come to taste and learn about the ever-growing range of local produce from the producers themselves.
Each month the seasonal selection might include local lamb and small goods, olive oil, organic honey, biodynamic eggs, fresh water crayfish, oysters (in season), sheep cheeses and yoghurts, sticky figs and fig syrup, handmade cordials, curry pastes, chutneys and relishes, local wine, old fashioned biscuits and a range of other handmade delectables, all complemented by fresh seasonal fruit and vegetables.
