Our main events of the FEASTival feature our invited celebrity chefs and include Tasting Kangaroo Island (our big day out) down at the wharf in Kingscote. Tasting Kangaroo Island gives you fantastic opportunity to taste all the wine and food produce that Kangaroo Island has to offer alongside the Penneshaw Farmers Markets, cooking competitions, live music, games and a supervised kids areas to give you some time off. These events are not to be missed.

Sealink Launch Night with George Calombaris

Stealing a night away from filming MasterChef 2013, George Calombaris visits the island to launch the Kangaroo Island Feastival for 2013. As an Island first, George will be creating an exotic menu from local Island produce in a pop-up marquee setting down at the water’s edge in Kingscote.

Roman Banquet with Maggie Beer at Andermel Marron Farm

Treat yourself to a rustic Romanesque style banquet showcasing the Island’s pig on a spit and Marron (freshwater crayfish) alongside other farm produce - all artfully created by South Australia’s own Maggie Beer. The interactive lunch includes stand up grazing style canapés with wine tastings, live marron tanks and an overview of the farm, followed by the Banquet Feast on long tables. At the end wander through the native herb orchard with lemon and aniseed myrtle and for those interested a quick complementary bus tour of the farm would be possible.

Thomas Foods presenting - Tasting Kangaroo Island at the Wharf

Immerse yourself in Kangaroo Island culture, food, wine, art & entertainment with the FEASTival’s main big day out featuring the hotly contested Tourism Kangaroo Island Signature Dish competition judged by Maggie Beer, Andrew Fielke and Manuela Darling-Gansser. Joined by the Penneshaw Farmers Markets and the island’s best chefs and wine makers, this is your chance to sample everything Kangaroo Island.

FEASTival feature band - Buddha in a Chocolate Box

A four-piece rare alternative/folk outfit, the front man is unpredictable and raw vocalist Adrian Calvano, who also wields the guitar, wild-bearded Shane Baker is on the bass, Matty “Fiddler” Pitman has the crowd enchanted with his violin, and skin-slapping Gavin Kelly is the man with the sticks.

After initially spending their weekends and Thursday nights packing out pubs and clubs in Victoria’s south-west, Buddha in a Chocolate Box spread their wings and launched their debut EP, The Keep on Keepin’ On EP, in 2010.

A track from The Keep On Keepin’ On EP proved an instant hit with fans, 'SHE FEELS LIKE HOME', debuting at No.1 on the Triple J Unearthed charts. This resulting in their first video 'We’re On Our Way' filmed by ABC & Triple J, which has been aired in RAGE.

An exciting year looms for Buddha in a Chocolate Box in 2013, with two new releases imminent – The Where I Belong EP and Clarence Cottage EP.

With well over 3000 fans on Facebook, and constantly playing to sold-out audiences in Port Fairy and Melbourne, Buddha in a Chocolate Box are on their way...
