The Island Resort Motel has 27 ground floor rooms, all of which have an en suite, tea/coffee making facilities, a television and a small fridge. A heated indoor swimming pool is located within the expansive garden and lawn area. The Island Resort Motel is situated in Kingscote, Kangaroo Island's largest town, and is within a three minute walk to the town centre and is the closest accommodation premises to the town's main attractions - the pelican feeding and penguin tours. Both individuals and groups are catered for with the motel specialising in group tours, dinners and attraction bookings. The Island Resort Motel reception and restaurant building was originally built in the early 1900s, while the motel rooms were built in the 1970s. For the last 13 years, The Island Resort Motel has been operated by Heather and Ben. They endeavour to provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere with a clean and comfortable stay. The motel is family friendly and people have said it is like a 'coming home' experience.

Each ground level room has ramp access and easy access to stand alone shower inside room.
