Nestled in the dunes, adjacent to the coast reserve, Currawong Cottage has its own track, winding through the scrub to the beach, just 100 metres away. The cabin comprises a large living area, modern kitchen, two double bedrooms, ensuite, main bathrooms, anteroom and extensive verandahs with barbecue. Vivonne Bay offers both seclusion and proximity to many of the Island's attractions. It has been voted Australia's best beach in a Sydney University survey and offers safe swimming, snorkelling, surfing and fishing. Seals and dolphins are regular visitors to the bay, penguins can be seen near the jetty and whales are often sighted in the bay during winter. Wallabies, possums, echidnas and heath goanna may be seen in the scrub, which provides an ever-changing display of wild flowers and a haven for birds. Currawong Cottage is a convenient base from which to explore the Island as well as a beautiful spot to simply relax.
