The Mary Ellen is a luxurious two bedroom, rustic log cabin nestled in a magnificent bushland setting on Eleanor River Homestead. The homestead is a 250 acre property located on the banks of the Eleanor River and lies amongst the many rolling hills and valleys in the heart of Kangaroo Island.
This fully self contained cabin is ideally suited for the self drive visitor to Kangaroo Island and is conveniently located to all major attractions. We present an ideal location from which you can base your island tour.
Meander through the natural paths to explore our unique bushland. These paths lead to the decking and relaxation area on the Eleanor River where you can enjoy a picnic, or just take a stroll along the banks and numerous paths to experience the beauty of this spring fed river and its unique surroundings in the company of the many species of native birds and wildlife including kangaroos, wallabies, possums, koalas, echidnas, goannas, Fairy Wrens, Scarlet Robins, Wedge Tailed Eagles and the endangered Glossy Black Cockatoo. At the end of the day relax on the cabin verandah to see the kangaroos grazing whilst experiencing our amazing sunsets across the rolling hills and valley.
