Raven Cottage
Raven Cottage is a chalet style timber cottage set amidst low melaleuca scrub and backs on to dense woodland, which abounds in wildlife. The decks are especially suited to bird-watching or feeding the resident possums and wallabies whilst cooking your latest catch of fish on the barbecue.
The cottage is sheltered from the superb Vivonne Bay beach, which can be heard at night and is only a few minutes' walk away. Vivonne Bay has been voted the best beach in Australia and is ideal for fishing, surfing or just strolling, hand in hand.
Vivonne Bay jetty, a few minutes away by car, offers catches of Tommy ruffs, whiting, and squid. Eagle rays and the occasional shark can also be viewed cruising by the jetty.
The Harriet River is only 100 metres away through light scrub. The river abounds in fish and even delicious marron can be caught at times. Kayaks and canoes can be hired for a delightful tour on the river itself.
Raven Cottage is centrally located for the island's major natural attractions including Seal Bay, Kelly Hill Caves, Flinders Chase National Park, Remarkable Rocks, Admirals Arch and the Little Sahara's.
